August 14th, 2010
Dear SULS Members,
Further to our earlier notice, on Monday the 23rd of August (from 1-2pm in Seminar Room 105 of the New Law School) we will be holding a Special General Meeting to vote upon proposed changes to the Electoral Regulations contained in the SULS Constitution.
In an effort to make the changes as seamless and comprehensive as possible, we would encourage anyone interested in attending the meeting to consider this document which sets out the proposal that will be considered at the meeting. This proposal has sought to consolidate all electoral provisions in the Electoral Regulations, rather than having them dispersed throughout the Constitution and Electoral Regulations as is currently the case, and has also sought to clarify current areas of confusion.
If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact secretary@suls.org.au.
Kind Regards,
The SULS Executive

Representatives from a number of commercial law firms (every firm which presented at Sydney Law School during ‘Clerkship Season’) will be returning to Sydney law school for a ‘last-ditch-clerkship-application-enquiry-corridor-fair’ (a more digestible name will emerge in the coming weeks). In a very informal, relaxed atmosphere (likely to involve doughnuts and chocolate), prospective summer clerkship applicants can ask any last questions they may have in respect of their applications. It is envisaged each firm will send a HR representative and a recent graduate/former summer clerk – two people who will know the do’s and don’ts of applications.
The event will take place from 1pm – 2pm on Wednesday 26 July (the first week back). Students will be advised of any changes ASAP.
