Socials

Socials are an important part of student life. Our events are created to help students achieve a healthy work-life balance, to foster new friendships and promote a more inclusive and enjoyable law school experience, in an environment that is both fun and safe! We strive to diversify your social calendar through expanding the range of events offered, both small and large-scale, to cater to a wider range of students, meeting the needs of LLBs, JDs, masters students, full and part-time, alike!

We organize social events for SULS, to help make sure there’s always something exciting to look forward to, beyond classes and assessments!

First Year LLB Law Camp

“This one time at Law Camp…”

Every year in the early weeks of Semester One, SULS takes a group of first years for a weekend of meeting, greeting, bonding and partying. Amongst the traditions of flip cup, trivia and a scavenger hunt, SULS also takes the time to acquaint the first years with the society, the support services available to students as well as introducing topics of awareness for law students.

JD I Welcome Drinks

After the battle of an intensive foundies, the new JDs are given the opportunity to dress up, hit the town and get to know their cohort outside of the stark walls of the law school. Taking place early in Semester 1, friendships are both made and cemented over cocktails and canapes.

Law Ball

Law Ball: the highlight of the SULS social calendar each year, where we dress to the nines, smile for the cameras and have a night of glammed up fun. Following a three course meal and after you’ve hit the dance floor, this event is complete with an after-party, so keep your eyes out for a Save the Date in Semester 2!

End of Semester Informals

Say goodbye to exams and hello to your holidays at the End-of-Semester Informal! At the end of both Semester One and Two, SULS gives you the opportunity to let your hair down and have some fun in our themed Informals.

Final Year Dinner

And now, in the fitting venue of the Great Hall, it’s time to look back and smile on the memories you’ve made here at law school. Reminisce with your cohort one last time about all that made you laugh, cry and cry with laughter over dinner and drinks at this one final party. Blackacre is also distributed during the dinner as a final momento of your law school experience.
