Hey there, it’s Zara here, your 2025 SULS President, and I’m truly honoured to welcome you to SULS for 2025! As the primary association for law students at the University of Sydney, we’re here to make your time at law school more than just lectures and exams. With 23 passionate individuals on our Executive team—each leading their own portfolio—SULS is dedicated to offering all kinds of opportunities, guidance, and support to help you thrive.

Think mentoring programs, networking events, seminars, panels, and even policy pitch competitions—whatever your interests, we’ve got you covered. Looking to develop your legal skills outside class? Our Competitions Portfolio, expert-led workshops, and publications are ready to help you grow. Craving a social life beyond the study grind? From iconic events like Law Ball and Law Cruise, to chill picnics and BBQs on campus, we’re all about connecting you with a community that’s as supportive as it is fun.

We know everyone’s law school journey is unique. That’s why we’re committed to diversity and inclusion, making sure our events cater to a wide range of backgrounds and needs. Our autonomous portfolios host advocacy-driven gatherings, and every major social event includes resources to ensure you feel comfortable and welcome - think wellbeing officers, quiet rooms, and accessible support measures. If you need a helping hand throughout the year, we offer equity schemes and our handy Support Services Handbook to guide you toward helpful resources (keep an eye out for the 2025 Handbook at the start of sem 1 this coming year!).

We’re there Monday-Thursday, 10am–2pm, with extended hours on Tuesdays until 6pm for our part-time JD and LLM students.
